Purpose

Maple Star Oregon is incorporated as a non-profit social agency and licensed by the State of Oregon Office For Services to Children and Families as a Child Caring Agency, Maple Star has developed a therapeutic foster family care program to address two service needs:

1. To serve as a front-end alternative to institutions for youth who require more supervision than available with their families, but who do not pose a serious risk to the community;

2. To serve to shorten lengthy stays in correctional and treatment facilities for youth who no longer require institutional services, but who do not have available community living options that provide necessary services, structure and supervision.

Maple Star Oregon is prepared to accept referrals from both child protective and juvenile correction agencies. In principle, youth of any age or gender, having a wide variety of problems in living, are appropriate for the Maple Star program.
